Edward B. Collins,
a resident of San Francisco, California, is Chairman of the Board and a member of the Compensation Committee.
Mr. Collins is an attorney and ex-banker. He started his career at Morgan Guaranty Trust Company, where he worked from 1968 to 1970 in the company's Executive Training Program. He then joined Republic National Bank of Dallas, where he served as a representative resident in Hong Kong from 1973 to 1975.
From 1976 to 1986, Mr. Collins practiced law in the San Francisco law firms of Collins and Hanavan and Kaplan Russin Vecchi Eytan and Collins. From 1987 to 1995 he served as a partner in the law firm of McCutchen, Doyle, Brown and Enersen in San Francisco, where his practice included the representation of financial institutions.
Since 1995 Mr. Collins has been a partner and Managing Director of ChinaVest, a venture capital partnership with private equity investments in Greater China. Mr. Collins has also served as Trustee and Chairman of Audit Committee of Taiwan Greater China Fund (NYSE), a closed end mutual fund, as well as Director of MedioStream, and Chic Logistics.
Mr. Collins was a founder and served as a director of National American Bank from 1982 to 1985, and served as a director of Bank of Canton of California from 1985 to 1991.
